Your introduction to Medioora

Learn the essential workflows from a user's perspective. Each lesson lasts one to two minutes and demonstrates one manageable step with a concrete example.

What you will learn

  • Find your way around the workspace and create your first project and document.
  • Write, refine, find and link requirements.
  • Follow relationships in the traceability view and resolve questions through comments and reviews.
  • Specify a test, link it to a requirement and record a test run.
  • Capture a document version and export it as a PDF.

How to use this course

The videos use on-screen instructions without voice or music. Each lesson includes a learning goal, an example, a practice task and the complete video text.

All exercises use the fictional Aster learning project. Use your own learning project for practice. The testing lessons require a suitably configured test specification and a prepared device under test. Available features depend on your project configuration and licence.

Refine and maintain requirements

Turn an unclear statement into a testable requirement and maintain its metadata.

Prerequisite: An editable requirement is available.

Example

Replace “The start should be visible quickly” with the measurable requirement from lesson 4.

Steps

  1. Open the requirement
  2. State one requirement per item
  3. Add conditions and a time unit
  4. Check priority and assignees
  5. Save the change

Exercise

Rewrite one vague statement with a trigger, an observable response and a limit.

Read the video text
  1. Refine a requirement. “The start should be visible quickly” leaves the timing open.
  2. Ask what can be checked. What starts the clock? What should appear? How much time is allowed?
  3. Edit the description. Open the description for editing. Keep one clear requirement per item.
  4. Make the trigger explicit. After the start command is issued, the device shall display a visible progress indicator within one second.
  5. Save the clarification. Save the item and re-read the complete statement.
  6. Inspect responsibility. Check Status, Assignee and Priority. Select values according to your team's workflow.
  7. Avoid empty assignments. Our demo still has no assignee and no priority. A saved description does not assign responsibility.
  8. Try it yourself. Rewrite one vague statement with a trigger, an observable response and a limit.

Fictional learning project. Example requirements and test values are for practising the software only.
