Your introduction to Medioora

Learn the essential workflows from a user's perspective. Each lesson lasts one to two minutes and demonstrates one manageable step with a concrete example.

What you will learn

  • Find your way around the workspace and create your first project and document.
  • Write, refine, find and link requirements.
  • Follow relationships in the traceability view and resolve questions through comments and reviews.
  • Specify a test, link it to a requirement and record a test run.
  • Capture a document version and export it as a PDF.

How to use this course

The videos use on-screen instructions without voice or music. Each lesson includes a learning goal, an example, a practice task and the complete video text.

All exercises use the fictional Aster learning project. Use your own learning project for practice. The testing lessons require a suitably configured test specification and a prepared device under test. Available features depend on your project configuration and licence.

Specify and link a test

Create a reproducible test with an expected result.

Prerequisite: A document configured as a Test Specification is available. Its document template is prepared in the project.

Example

Trigger the start command; measure the time until the progress indicator appears; expected result: at most one second.

Steps

  1. Open the prepared Test Specification document
  2. Select the appropriate test type
  3. Add preconditions, a test step and the expected result
  4. Link it to the system requirement
  5. Save and version the test specification

Exercise

Prepare one test with a precondition, an action and an expected result. Link it to its requirement.

Read the video text
  1. Specify and link a test. Use a Test Specification document for the test plan. Our example contains one Test Case.
  2. State the precondition. The fictional prototype is on and the measurement screen is open.
  3. Describe an executable action. Issue the start command and measure the time until the progress indicator appears.
  4. Separate the expected result. Expected: the indicator appears within one second of the start command.
  5. Save the test. Save the test details, then save the document.
  6. Link it to the requirement. On SYS-0005, use Add target and select TC-0005. The picker shows To · outgoing.
  7. Verify the test connection. TC-0005 appears under To. The requirement and the test remain separate items.
  8. Freeze the test specification. Save a document version before creating the Test Run. Our selected test specification is version 0.2.
  9. Try it yourself. Prepare one test with a precondition, an action and an expected result. Link it to its requirement.

Fictional learning project. Example requirements and test values are for practising the software only.
