Your introduction to Medioora

Learn the essential workflows from a user's perspective. Each lesson lasts one to two minutes and demonstrates one manageable step with a concrete example.

What you will learn

  • Find your way around the workspace and create your first project and document.
  • Write, refine, find and link requirements.
  • Follow relationships in the traceability view and resolve questions through comments and reviews.
  • Specify a test, link it to a requirement and record a test run.
  • Capture a document version and export it as a PDF.

How to use this course

The videos use on-screen instructions without voice or music. Each lesson includes a learning goal, an example, a practice task and the complete video text.

All exercises use the fictional Aster learning project. Use your own learning project for practice. The testing lessons require a suitably configured test specification and a prepared device under test. Available features depend on your project configuration and licence.

Execute a test run

Create a test run from a test specification and distinguish the expected result from the actual observation.

Prerequisite: A versioned Test Specification and a prepared practice DUT are available.

Example

Fictional practice result: progress indication after 0.7 seconds; assess it against the requirement from lesson 4.

Steps

  1. Open More → Testing
  2. Create a test run using the prepared test specification
  3. Expand the test view and select the prepared practice DUT
  4. Execute the step and record the fictional practice result
  5. Save the result, finish the run and open the report from Split view

Exercise

Execute a test with an explicitly fictional practice observation. Check the saved result and DUT in the report.

Read the video text
  1. Execute a test run. Open Testing. On narrower screens, you will find it under More.
  2. Choose the specification version. Create a Test Run, enter its title and check the selected test and version.
  3. Inspect the draft. Check the scope before starting. Start Test Run freezes the selected snapshots.
  4. Start the test instance. Select TC-0005, expand the test view, then choose Start test.
  5. Select the prepared DUT. Our DUT is a fictional learning prototype. Real runs need the correct project configuration.
  6. Record the actual observation. Fictional observation: indicator after 0.7 s. Enter it separately from the expected result. The timer shows execution time, not response time.
  7. Assess and save the result. 0.7 seconds is within the one-second limit. Select Passed for this exercise and save the result.
  8. Finish the run. Choose Finish Test Run and inspect the confirmation before completing it.
  9. Inspect the completed run. The run shows Finished and one Passed test. Return to Split view before opening its report.
  10. Open the Test Report. The report records the frozen test and this fictional execution result.

Fictional learning project. Example requirements and test values are for practising the software only.
