Your introduction to Medioora

Learn the essential workflows from a user's perspective. Each lesson lasts one to two minutes and demonstrates one manageable step with a concrete example.

What you will learn

  • Find your way around the workspace and create your first project and document.
  • Write, refine, find and link requirements.
  • Follow relationships in the traceability view and resolve questions through comments and reviews.
  • Specify a test, link it to a requirement and record a test run.
  • Capture a document version and export it as a PDF.

How to use this course

The videos use on-screen instructions without voice or music. Each lesson includes a learning goal, an example, a practice task and the complete video text.

All exercises use the fictional Aster learning project. Use your own learning project for practice. The testing lessons require a suitably configured test specification and a prepared device under test. Available features depend on your project configuration and licence.

Read the traceability view

Recognise existing relationships and missing links.

Prerequisite: The learning project contains prepared relationships for the traceability view.

Example

The system requirement is linked to the software requirement; the test link is still missing.

Steps

  1. Open Traceability
  2. Identify levels and work items
  3. Follow an existing relationship
  4. Identify a missing connection
  5. Open a work item using its ID

Exercise

Follow one existing link and identify one missing connection. Check whether it is actually required.

Read the video text
  1. Read the traceability view. Open Traceability. The configured levels organise the relationship view.
  2. Follow the prepared example. A fictional practice context is linked to SYS-0005. This is a software exercise, not a risk assessment.
  3. Read across the row. Follow the item IDs through the displayed levels.
  4. Recognise an empty cell. The Test Cases cell is still empty here. The test connection will be added in lesson 11.
  5. Switch to Tree. The tree presents the same prepared relationship as a hierarchy.
  6. Use the ID to inspect details. Open SYS-0005 to understand the underlying requirement.
  7. Separate reference and hierarchy. SRS-0005 is a reference on the same configured level. It is visible in the item details.
  8. Try it yourself. Follow one existing link and identify one missing connection. Check whether it is actually required.

Fictional learning project. Example requirements and test values are for practising the software only.

Lesson Comments

Tip: Write timestamps such as 1:23 or 12:45 and they will automatically become video links.
